Board
of Directors:
Susan Hageman, Ph.D.
Associate Professor of Environmental Education and Director of Southern
Connecticut State University Center for the Environment. A biochemist
and teacher of environmental sciences, she is the director of both a graduate
program in environmental education and a 6th year program for science
teachers (ISIS). She serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors.
Martin Schwartz, Ph.D.
Senior Member, The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, California
The director of a large laboratory at Scripps, he is the discoverer of
integrins and an internationally noted scientist with more than a hundred
publications. Dr. Schwartz is a primary consultant to the Nobel prize
committee and brings cutting edge insights and visions to the Board.
Robin Bundy, M.A.
Professor of Education, St. Martin's College, University of Lancaster,
England
As director of clinical education and professor of language arts in the
teacher training program, Mr. Bundy is able to bring creative perspectives
to the work of the collaborative. He is a frequent visitor to the United
States and provides leadership in program development and planning.
Gina McCaffrey, M.S.
Program Administrator, The Learning Collaborative
A graduate accountant and adept manager, she is the chief operating officer
for the ongoing activities of The Collaborative and provides internal
continuity and structure. She serves as the Secretary/Treasurer of the
Board of Directors.
Alan Segal, M.D.
Professor of Medicine, University of Vermont
Dr. Segal spends a third of his time in teaching, and the rest in basic
medical research. He is a board certified nephrologist with a significant
publication record, and serves as the President of the Board of Directors.

Contributors
Listed below are Collaborative associates who are primary sources of program
design and development. They also serve as the core professional personnel
to whom the Collaborative turns with initiatives emanating from outside
contributors.
A.
Harris Stone, Ed.D.
Among the original founders of the Collaborative concept, A. Harris Stone
is a long time academic program designer whose experience spans several
universities and a number of decades. He is the originator of current
Collaborative programs at Sacred Heart University.
Lawrence Fenn, Ed.D.
One of the initial organizers of the Collaborative, Lawrence Fenn is an
experienced school educator currently serving as Superintendent of Schools
in Lisbon, Ct. He is the originator and operator of the Cohort Program
for Administrative Certification.
James Trifone, M.S., C.A.S.
The coordinator of the WHOLEfield Learning program, James Trifone teaches
biology, anatomy and physiology at the secondary level. He is deeply committed
to education, particularly in the areas of transformational science and
epistemology.
James Longo
Currently serving as Administrator in the Bend of River school in Stamford,
James is the operator of the WHOLEfield Learning section for artists.
He is also a productive artist in his own right.
Steven Durham, Ed.D.
A coordinator of the Collaborative's Administrative Certification Program,
and Principal of Fitch Middle School in Groton, Steve is dedicated to
educational leadership and administration.
David Coleman, Ph.D.
David Coleman is an administrator at the Kennedy High School in Waterbury,
Connecticut. His deep interest in bi-lingual education and extensive experience
in schools enables him to bring great practicality to his work. Having
worked in Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom, his experience in international
education helped to develop the Collaborative's Puerto Rico-Connecticut
Forum.
