Say what you like about me being a bleeding heart, but I will always root for the underdog. One of my personal heroes, who evolved from underdog to media mogul was Carl Laemmle, who went toe to toe with one of the biggest meanest and most brilliant S.O.B's on the planet, namely Thomas Alva Edison, and lived not only to tell the tale, but to prosper, thrive and build an empire of his own amid the orange groves of the Hollywood Hills. Laemmle, founder of Universal Pictures, broke the Edison monopoly on film production by sheer cunning, blatant showmanship and maverick defiance - essentially becoming one of the first indie film maker way back in 1909. His Independent Moving Pictures Company of America, whose logo I proudly display here, was the inspiration for an entire generation at the turn of the last century, who having come into possession of an explosive new technology, forged their way forward and built an industry.

It is with this same spirit of independence and innovation that Studio819 has joined the emerging digital media marketplace. My dream is to use Film, DV video, Photography, traditional and digital animation, original music and fine art to create entirely revolutionary media, not only for commercial purposes, but to make a lasting and substantial contribution to the art of the moving image.

For my clients this means I will always strive to use the vast toolset at my disposal to create distinctive cutting edge work, and that I will never be satisfied with a mundane approach when it comes to their projects.
